Environmental Health Officer

Are you looking to work closer to home? An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Environmental Health Officer based in a Local Authority in North West London.

Post: Environmental Health Officer

Rate: Circa £21 per hour (negotiable for the right person)

We are looking for an experienced Environmental Health Officer to carry out housing inspections, re-inspections and surveys and to be responsible for the investigation, enforcement and manage a caseload.

The main duties of the role are as follows;



* To change community and individual behaviour through communication, persuasion, advice and guidance; or enforcement.
* To achieve compliance with statutory requirements through inspection, investigation, monitoring.
* To achieve Council and service unit objectives, improve community wellbeing and economic prosperity.
* To maintain high standards of knowledge, competency and skills within your area of required expertise by participating in personal learning and development where necessary or required.

Requirements



* Social housing experience.
* BSc or Diploma in Environmental Health and be eligible for EHORB registration as an EHO.
* Possess an in-depth and current knowledge of the technical, scientific, environmental and health aspects of local air quality management, environmental permitting and contaminated land management.
* Significant experience in at least one of the following disciplines: local air quality management, environmental permitting and contaminated land management
