An exciting opportunity has arisen for a General Ledger Analyst to work for a leading OEM based in the West Midlands.

The purpose of this role is to maintain the integrity of the company's accounting ledgers and financial statements and conduct various accounting, banking and support activities as necessary.

Key Responsibilities & Tasks:



* Assist in the coordination of month-end procedures for all legal entities: prepare and post journal vouchers (such as cashbooks), ensure suspense accounts are cleared of all balances, investigate and resolve unusual results in the monthly accounts.
* Maintain the daily sales and purchase order receipts interface into AX from Goldcrest.
* Transact company payroll to the General Ledger and reconcile to payments made to payroll provider.
* Prepare quarter-end accrual reports for review by the Finance management team.
* Maintain the General Ledger structure in terms of pre-set accounting rules, financial dimensions and the Chart of Accounts.
* Assume administrative responsibility for the online PCR system & Concur travel & expense management system.
* Maintain Customer (Sales Ledger), Supplier (Purchase Ledger) & Fixed Asset tables in Goldcrest & AX, adding and amending records as necessary.
* Complete balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis to quickly identify and clear aged reconciliation items.
* Ensure the accounting sub-ledgers (Sales Ledger, Purchase Ledger and Fixed Asset Register) tie to the General Ledger.
* Provide cover to other roles in the department as necessary (Purchase / Sales Ledger etc) to ensure Segregation of Duties are maintained.
* Transact fixed asset acquisitions, adjustments and disposals and support the Fixed Asset Register reconciles to the General Ledger.
* Assist Finance & other business areas with the account and transactional queries in a timely manner.
* Liaison with External Auditors.

Qualifications & Experience:



* Accountancy Qualification desirable.
* Experience within finance or accounts teams essential, with experience of General Ledger desirable.
* PC literate with a good level of competence in most Microsoft applications and strong Excel skills. Experience with Microsoft AX accounting package advantageous.
* The methodical and process-driven mindset with the ability to present and seek feedback at all levels within the business.
