Group Financial Controller - Twickenham - Salary Negotiable

Have you previously or do you currently manage the finances of a leading company with multiple sites? If so, a leading managing agent are currently looking to provide an opportunity of a new challenge in the financial sector.

Duties and responsibilities of the role

* Responsible for running accounts department
* Supervision of five staff (payroll manager, payroll asistant, two accounts assistants and one apprentice), included day to day management, annual appraisal and objective setting
* Production of consolidated monthly management accounts containing multiple businesses to a strict timetable, including full variance analysis
* Production of monthly site P&Ls (c20) to a strict timetable
* Assisting Group CFO with consolidation adjustments for the new acquisitions
* Implementing/set up of Sage for any new businesses purchased.
* Initial preparation of the annual budgets for group companies
* Assisting in preparation year-end statutory accounts and audit files for group companies
* Involvement in the audit planning process and fieldwork including direct engagement with the auditors
* Preparing and submitting VAT returns for the whole group
* Preparing and submitting corporation tax returns for the whole group
* Assisting with for the production of cash flow forecasts and day to day cash management
* Overseeing payroll and pension schemes for group and client ledger staff
* Maintenance of nominal ledger, posting period-end journals including accruals, prepayments, depreciation and intercompany transactions
* Ensuring that all month end procedures are followed and completed accurately and within specific time scales
* Attendance at the monthly Corporate/ Service Charge accounts meeting
* Ensuring employee expenses processed and reimbursed in timely manner
* Developing reports in Sage 200 to provide insight for senior management

Work Experience Requirements


* Experience of calculation/preparation of group VAT returns
* Advanced Excel user
* Advanced Sage user/experience of Sage 200 including report writing
* Online banking management
* Experience of managing a small accounts team
* Experience of preparing group management accounts

Beneficial Experience

* Qualified accountant with more than 4 years post qualification experience
* Experience of preparing group corporation tax returns
* Experience of Barclays.Net online banking
* Experience of OnBase electric file storage would be useful
