Sensational new opportunity for an experienced Environmental, Health and Safety professional to lead and continue the EHS Strategy of the Gatwick operations team!!!

A leading consultancy is seeking a Head of Environmental, Health and Safety to continue the improvement of the EHS strategy across the Gatwick business. The successful candidate will have responsibility for either Service or Infrastructure and will decide, engage on, and deliver a strategy which reflects Gatwick as the UK's airport of choice. You will manage a team up to 6 and will coach and develop them to deliver against all elements of Environment, Health and Safety, as well as proactively engaging with and working with stakeholders across the entire airport campus.

Responsibilities:



* Ensuring EHS performance excellence within the team via rigorous application of compliance and management systems
* Reporting directly to the Director of EHS, the Head of EHS will have responsibility for oversight of all EHS matters residing within their client area and from the respective Business Unit/Programme Managers. Whilst Business Unit/Programme Managers have principal accountability for EHS performance, the Head of EHS is responsible for the implementation of management systems to ensure compliance and continuous improvement, including ISO -14001 and OHSAS -18001
* Communicate clear and concise goals, yet also maintain a collaborative, team oriented approach to achieving goals
* Use metrics to coach Managers and provides strategic, tactical and operational support as necessary to focus and energise the Business Units/Programmes to deliver positive change
* Influence senior stakeholders

Requirements:



* Must be of graduate calibre or equivalent
* Must be a Chartered Health & Safety professional with an accredited Institution (i.e. IOSH), with expertise in Health, Safety and Environmental compliance at a senior level
* Must have an IEMA Associate Certificate
* Must have Lead Auditor training for OHSAS 18001 or ISO 14001
* Must have a proven track record in the delivery of EHS objectives associated typically with extensive experience
* Must be a Kelvin TopSet Lead Investigator
* Have strong leadership and supervisory skills and experience
* Demonstrated ability to establish a functional strategy to set and meet stretch targets
* Have excellent written and oral communications
* Persuasive with strong influencing skills across all levels
* Strong problem solving skills
* Strong decision maker effectively driving change and continuous improvement
* Strong Microsoft office skills - Excel, PowerPoint, Word
* Knowledge of data systems and ability to use IT to collect, analyse, interpret and present information
* Ideally, you will have airport operational experience
