ROLE SUMMARY

You will take an overview of Health & Safety for the bank as well as handling individual personal issues as they arise. You will ensure compliance with company policy statements and carryout induction, manual handling and work station risk assessments for all employees. You will take responsibility for carryingout building fire risk assessments annually (or as otherwise necessary). You will maintain records of all health & safety activities, training and issues. In addition, you will monitor and promote environmental initiatives, recycling schemes and report on these as required. Lastly, you will ensure the provision of a physically secure environment in conjunction with the bank's service providers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Maintain a high standard of Health & Safety within the working environment as is practicable.
- Ensure compliance with Company Policy Statement.
- Carry out H&S induction training for all new employees and contractors as appropriate.
- Oversee all accident/incident and near miss investigations and implement corrective actions to reduce and mitigate overall accident/incident and near miss figures
- Carry out workstation assessments for every employee on a bi-annual basis.
- Carry out minimum yearly Risk Assessment Report for Fire Precaution Regulations.
- Maintain comprehensive records of all assessments.
- Organise training and supervise Fire Marshalls and First Aiders.
- Assist Landlord in organising six-monthly Fire Drills.
- Organise and supervise the training of all staff in fire safety both theory and practical.
- Organise and implement Major Incident Evacuation/Invacuation procedures in conjunction with Landlord
- Maintain H&S records including Staff Register, Fire Marshalls, First Aiders and Safety officers.
- Ensure accurate publishing of all H&S details on company notice boards and Intranet.
- Effective physical security of the premises managing relevant outsourced service providers, systems and controls.
- Plan, prepare and review relevant security policies, procedures and controls.
- Investigate and report on physical security events or breaches.
- Ensure that environmental policies are implemented and any environmental campaigns are effective.
- Enhance the recycling scheme in place
- Monitor and report environmental performance and implement resources to reduce carbon footprint where possible
- Organisation of environmental awareness campaigns
- Available 24/7 to respond to emergency situations.
- Comply with all applicable legal, regulatory and internal Compliance requirements, including, but not limited to, the London Compliance manual and the Financial Crime Policy.
- Maintain appropriate knowledge to ensure to be fully qualified to undertake the role. Complete all mandatory training as required to attain and maintain competence.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

- Understanding of health & safety law
- Understanding of hazard and risk
- IOSH managing safely certificate
- NEBOSH general certificate
- First aid trained
- Trained in use of Defibrillator
- Knowledge of permit to work systems
- Knowledge of best practises in security provision and management
- Knowledge of environmental requirements both legal and best practise
- PC literate
- Ability to write clear and precise policies and documents.
- Knowledge and ability to train others in any health & safety, security or environmental matters.
- Good communication skills
- Presentation skills for training and induction presentation
- Being able to work on own initiative
- Good document record keeping
- Organisational skills
- Ability to respond effectively under pressure.
