Are you a Highways Design Engineer? Looking for a new role?

Randstad are currently recruiting for a Highways Design Engineer to work on a permanent basis for a civil engineering design consultancy in Cardiff. The client is an independent consultancy who produce a mix of build and infrastructure projects.


* Degree Qualified
* Masters Qualified (desirable)
* Progressing towards or achieved chartered status


* Greater than 4 years

Highways/Civil Engineering:

* Industry standard Codes of Practice including;

* DMRB standards
* Manual for Streets

* Highway design (varied experience - geometric highway alignment, roundabout design, junction design, pavement composition and public realm)
* Highway planning and adoption arrangements, E.G. under the Highways Act;

* S38 (highway adoption)
* S278 (works to public highway)

* Familiarity of the following processes;

* Road Safety Audits
* Technical Approval
* Approval in Principle
* Planning Approval Process
* Land acquisition process
* Traffic / transport modelling
* UK Transport Business Case
* Utility diversions

* Analysis and modelling software abilities include

* MX
* Autocad

* Awareness of drainage - storm water, foul and potable water
