job description

Are you an education practitioner who understands the value of team work? Would you like to work in a school that has a strong family ethos and believes in students and staff working closely together towards a common goal, rather than an 'us and them' mentality?

Randstad Education are currently working in partnership with a secondary school based near Braintree. The school caters for both advantaged and disadvantaged pupils from the local area, and is focused on closing the gap between the achievement of these two sets of learners, which is an area for improvement highlighted in the school's last Ofsted report.

Therefore, the school is looking to appoint teachers who are capable of assisting with this aim. They are currently looking to appoint teachers of History, who can teach effectively at key stages 3 4 and 5. This is on a full time, permanent basis.

The successful candidate will:-

*be an outstanding and innovative classroom practitioner who can lead and enthuse students
*have a proven track record of impacting on student achievement and the development of the department
*have excellent organisational and communication skills, with an eye for detail
*exude a passion for learning and a driving ambition for every learner to progress
*have a sense of humour and the ability to work well within a team

The school can offer:

*excellent facilities including interactive white boards in every classroom
*a family ethos with supportive staff who effectively pull together as a team at all times
*a diverse learning cohort that appreciate the effort staff make for them, leading to rewarding outcomes
*a school with an aim to enhance the life chances and opportunities afforded to its young people

Other strengths of this school are they make effective transition arrangements for pupils from local primary schools. This allows the school to accurately identify potential pupils who may be at risk of underachieving at key stage 3, and support them as necessary. Older students receive guidance on the full range of further education and employment pathways available post 16 and after A Levels. Disadvantaged pupils are afforded the same guidance in an effort to help them have the same high aspirations as their peers.

Randstad Education is a market leader in the recruitment of teaching and support staff in schools across the UK. At Randstad Education Chelmsford we work with schools and colleges across Essex, supplying them with outstanding candidates to meet their needs on both a temporary and permanent basis. If you feel you would like to become a part of our successful team, please contact the Chelmsford office for more information.
