I am currently seeking a H&S Advisor to worked with one of the UK's highly reputable contractors. This company work with a list of high profile client so major projects though out the UK. As a H&S Advisor you will provide professional advice and support on all Health, Safety Environmental and Quality matters. You will be working with all levels of employees within the business in order to meet legal responsibilities and to promote best practice.

The role will required you to:

* Assist their HSEQ manager in setting operational team safety objectives and assisting operational teams in achieving the Company HSEQ objectives
* Write new processes, procedures and systems of work
* Review or carry out risk assessments of work activities whenever required
* Undertake inspections at the frequency identified within their HSEQ objectives
* Ensure training is provided for all levels of employees in relation to Health, Safety Environment and Quality
* Promote a consistent approach to Health, Safety Environmental and Quality issues across the business - promote Best Practice and a pro-active approach
* Assist the HSEQ manager to achieve successful compliance to the accredited standards 14001/18001/9001 etc. and to conduct internal audits in order to meet these objectives
* Pro-actively support contracts in order to achieve all HSEQ objectives
* Evaluate and contribute to improvements and help update the relevant HSEQ management Customers
* The role holder will be responsible for dealing with regulatory authorities/ auditors/customers for such things as regulatory auditing HSE compliance issues, customer auditing or technical support; - ensuring clients are adhering to HS, environmental and Quality standards where Company employees are required to work
* Providing practical support and advice on Health and Safety compliance to managers within their support area; -Maintaining the highest levels of personal health and safety systems to ensure they are robust for compliance purposes, whilst reflecting real practices and decisions required for management control
* Carry out audits as part of the internal programme in accordance with LRQA/Achilles and other requirements -Support and liaise, where appropriate, in helping close out actions from audit on HSE and Q issues
* Responsible for resolving problems raised by operational managers and directors related to HSEQ; -contribute and in some cases lead the development of Company-wide initiatives
* Assist and support investigations into any accidents/incidents/events etc. and to undertake such investigations in a timely manner when required.
* Authorisation to instruct contract managers to carry out remedial actions where legal or best practice non-compliance is identified.

Skill & Qualifications:

* Achieved or working towards NEBOSH (National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health) Certificate or equivalent.
* General experience within health and safety or waste management.
* Good communication, negotiation and influencing skills are all essential.
* Must possess knowledge of change management, strategy and compliance management. Knowledge of management systems and their functionality.


* £35-40,000 basic salary + package (depending on qualifications/experience)
