Do you have a passion for Landscaping and are looking for something away from the commercial sector? We have a new role with a contractor that solely specialise in designing & building beautiful gardens throughout Sussex.



* Location: Horsham, West Sussex
* Contract type: Freelance
* Start date: 17th June 2018
* Duration: 5 months
* Pay rate: £8.67 - £11.75 (PAYE or Self-Employed)

The company:

A well established contractor with a 30 year trading history and a reputation for delivering high-quality hard and soft landscaping services to private clients and English Heritage. Contracts are wide and varied with works including



* Garden design and build.
* Swimming pool installations.
* Fencing and automated gate installs.
* Bespoke driveway design and build.
* Barn constructions.
* Irrigation systems.
* Garden and grounds maintenance.

The role:

As a Landscape Operative for our award winning client you will be working with some prestigious clients and national organisations on a wide variety of projects. Your role will include but not be limited to:



* Using small tools and operating small plant.
* Soil conditioning and preparation.
* Turfing, seeding and planting.
* Reading Architect's drawings.
* Digging foundations and laying drainage and substructures.
* Laying a variety of different slabs, pointing and re-pointing.
* Liaison with clients on a daily basis.
* Ordering materials and plant via the office.
* Reporting to a visiting Contracts Supervisor.

About you:

To be successful in your application for this role you will have and be able to demonstrate the following skills and attributes:



* Up to 2 years experience required and a skillset that encompasses either groundwork, drainage, flag laying, kerb laying, block paving, slabbing or fencing.
* You will have small tools and plant certifications.
* NVQ in a relevant field is desirable but not essential.
* Working knowledge of site health & safety procedures would be an advantage but is not essential.
* Good eye for detail and be able to foresee any potential issues with the design.
* Strong work ethic.
* Be approachable and happy to work as point of contact when working in a stand alone position.
