Learning Support Assistant

Due to the nature of the position, Art A-Level or above is essential. If you do not hold this qualification you will not be suitable for the position.

We are seeking reliable, dedicated individuals with a thirst for new opportunities and a drive to help those who face barriers due to disability and difficulties.

You will be working with students taking Art courses but may also support in any of the following curriculum areas:

* Maths
* English
* Catering
* Child Care
* Construction
* Engineering
* Fabrication & Welding
* Floristry
* Foundation Learning
* Health & Social Care
* I.T.
* Sport
* Travel & Tourism
* Uniform Services

You will be working with learners with a wide range of needs, including academic, social, emotional and physical. You will be supporting students to achieve their full potential both in and out of the classroom.

* provide support to students in group based sessions under the direction of the Tutor
* develop learners' Art skills
* keep students on task and engaged
* promote independent learning with your students
* work within the policies and procedures of the college and in partnership with other staff and teams
* attend staff and review meetings where necessary

Personal Attributes

* Art A-Level or above.
* the ability to communicate and work with learners
* a real desire to support and help students to reach their potential
* ability to work as part of a team
* be able to maintain a confident and professional approach at all times
* an Interest or experience in one of the above curriculum areas would be advantageous
* experience is desirable but not essential in: supporting people with: learning difficulties, disabilities, education or care
* successful applicants must be suitable to work with children and vulnerable adults
* a DBS check (Disclosure and Barring Service) will be carried out
