A brilliant special educational needs school is looking for an outgoing and dedicated Learning Support Worker to work with young people with learning difficulties and speech and language needs. You will be helping them with their chosen subject, whether it is plumbing, hairdressing or cabin crew training! Your focus will be to enable them to become independent and confident individuals by teaching them essential life skills and ways to communicate effectively.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Interacting and participating with the students to develop their skills, supporting them in becoming independent
- Helping students to participate in social, leisure, educational and employment opportunities in the local community
- Providing the support and care specified in students' individual learning plans
- Encouraging and enabling students to maintain acceptable levels of personal and environmental hygiene
- Participating in relevant training to achieve required qualifications
- Attending mandatory training days/courses, on or off-site, as and when required

An ideal candidate may possess the following:
- The desire to help others to enjoy learning and develop independence
- 5 GCSEs with minimum Grade C/ level 4 or equivalent in Maths and English Language
- Experience of working with adults or children with learning or communication difficulties
- An honest, trustworthy & ethical personality
- Own means of transport
