job description

Mechanical Design Engineer required to join a growing team of electrical and mechanical engineers, providing support to a wide range of disciplines within the company. The main areas of work are water projects. The work will be varied and may include activities in areas such as energy management, sustainability mechanical systems design, building services, and plant rooms within the context of both high profile and diverse schemes.

Duties will include:

* To be part of and co-ordinate mechanical engineering design and build activities on projects of various sizes, generally involving assistance with the development and review of technical proposals for mechanical systems associated with: rail, power, industrial, tunnel systems and water/wastewater.
* Ensure relationships are maintained between different department s, clients and contractors and design updates are reported regularly.
Personal Attributes:

* Outward looking, keen individual with a professional outlook, able to communicate effectively with the whole construction team and work with a minimum of supervision.
* The individual should be willing to contribute to the team as a whole and should be able to add ideas and innovation where appropriate.
* Mechanical design engineering
* Proficient in discussing technical issues in non-technical language with good presentation and report writing skills commercially aware.
* Ability to recognise new business opportunities, both externally and internally across other departments.
* Work with junior and principle engineers and assist with there work where necessary
* Be a front line point of contact with for tenders and managing detailed mechanical design from conceptual stages through to completion.
* Be a part of the team that reviews and surveys sites.
