Mechanical Inspector required on a Permanent basis to join an industry leading engineering and manufacturing business.

Are you looking for an exciting new opportunity at the? Do you have a background in automotive with technical knowledge of components and systems? Have you got experience of working in a fast paced R&D / Engineering environment? If you are seeking an exciting technical challenge then this is the role for you!

As the Mechanical Inspector you will participate as a team member in problem solving and inspections, liaise with Engineers when required. Produce detailed reports and investigations for all components of machines.

Role Responsibilities:



* Accurately conduct measuring tasks and record results


* Work the minimal supervision


* Liaise with Engineers as required


* Participate as a team member in problem solving and investigations


* Produce detailed reports relating to measured results


* Measure components on Faro arm to drawing/CAD specifications


* To be able to use a range of Metrology equipment and processes on machined, fabricated and mould components as follows;-


* CMM, Faro arm, micrometers, bore gauges, profile projector, talysurf, talyrond, callipers, height gauges, hardness testing and tensile test machine, also crack detection and sample preparation for material analysis

Qualifications and Experience (Essential & Desirable criteria):

Essential:



* GCSE Maths, English, Science or other relevant academic skills or qualifications


* Technical knowledge of automotive components and extensive experience in the use of all basic hand held inspection equipment such as Faro arm & CMM


* PC literate, basic skills in Word & Excel


* Skilled in the reading and interpretation of engineering drawings


* An in depth understanding on tolerancing
* Extensive use of micrometers and bore gauges to measure close toleranced components to a high degree of accuracy and repeatability


* Faro arm experience measuring to CAD data is essential

Desirable:



* HNC Mechanical & Production Engineering


* Engineering apprenticeship


* Have knowledge and experience in the use of more advanced inspection equipment such as; Talysurf, Talyrond, and Tensile test machines


* Word & Excel competent user


* Ability to carry out trigonometry, maths and engineering qualifications
