Mental Health Support Worker - Cardiff

Do you have a passion for providing first class support? Are you an experienced Support Worker? We have exciting opportunities available for a care Support Worker role in the Cardiff area.

You will be based in a residential area on the outskirts of Cardiff with excellent transport links and within walking distance to local cafes and shops. This is a recognised centre of excellence of and has forged strong links with medium secure services, low secure and locked rehabilitation hospitals. It also offers support to women with forensic histories and significant index offences, enabling them to step down from residential care to greater independence, including employment and supported living.

This is a permanent role commencing as soon as possible. To be considered for this role, experience of working within a similar secure setting in the care sector is preferable; however we are also looking for individuals with vast life experience in general.

Responsibilities:



* Promoting independence to service users.
* Effectively communicating with all clients.
* Supporting service users with day to day activities.
* To provide therapeutic and personal care to our client group.
* Completing all care plans effectively.
* Implement effective and creative approaches to problem solving.
* Establish supportive relationships with clients and other staff, and their families and friends
* Support clients in making their own choices and decisions to the maximum of their capability.

Requirements:



* Ability to work under pressure.
* Excellent communication skills.
* A flexible attitude to working hours.
* Previous experience of working in the care sector would be an advantage.
* A valid DBS.

You will be required to work on a rotational basis between Monday and Sunday (days and nights).
