Are you a driven lead generator, appointment setter or business development profession with experience in identifying, targeting and opening up indirect sales channels, channel partners and more ? Do you have prior experience in lead generation, lead development and appointment setting at a very high level for a technology and professional solutions provider? Maybe you prefer to work to achievable KPI's rather then having the stress of a financial target in you role, if so, this is an exciting opportunity you don't want to miss!

Under the direction of the Senior Vice President of Indirect Channel & Strategic Partnerships, the Business Development Specialist identifies sales opportunities, creates interest and drives brand and solution awareness and preference. A Business Development Specialist is primarily responsible for generating new business by qualifying prospects, setting appointments, by following proven processes-to-prospect standards and internal guidelines.


A typical workday will be comprised of generating and qualifying leads through targeted emails and outgoing phone calls to prospects.

The Business Development Specialist will conduct high-level conversations with senior executives about their business, their risk issues and their operations. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated and driven individual who is goal-oriented, methodical and tenacious, and can effectively interact with a team. This position has advancement potential within the sales organization, and the compensation package includes a commission structure.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Effectively articulate value proposition to potential buyers and accurately assess need and interest, through a positive, professional and pleasant phone manner

Learn and execute proven processes to generate new sales opportunities

Achieve or exceed monthly targets and quota of qualified opportunities and meetings

Successfully cold call and set up meetings for the MAE Sales Team (via phone and email)

Maintain up-to-date information in Salesforce.com database

Manage and maintain a pipeline of interested prospects

Engage executives in target prospect accounts to understand organizational decision makers, business and risk procedures, operations and business issues

Orchestrate discussions with senior executives on business need and escalate to assigned Account Executive for closing

Leverage CRM tools to prospect into targeted vertical accounts

Assist in identifying target prospect lists and closing gaps around key contact details

Create target lists for bus dev/lead gen campaigns

Work with Major Account Executives to create campaigns through SalesLoft

Work with Major Account Executives to create messaging for emails and calls specific to target markets

Pre-schedule meetings for conferences and events for Major Account Executives and assist with follow up

Vet leads and schedule introduction call to Major Account Executive

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENT

Bachelor's Degree

4 years' experience with business development activities, sales, B2B (ideally within professional services and technology based businesses - multi solution sales)

Must have the ability to pass a pre-employment background check

Experience in the Travel or Financial Services industries a plus

SKILLS/ABILITIES

Clear communication style and great phone manner

Strong organizational skills, quick responsiveness, and act with a sense of urgency

A commanding desire to learn and succeed in consultative selling

Ability to write succinct, crisp emails; writing sample requested

Ability to create a positive and professional impression

Have interest in learning new things and the ability to get along with a diverse team

Be goal oriented and work diligently towards those goals

Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, Salesforce and Campaign Management tools
