job description

We are looking for a Level 3 room leader to work in our fast paced toddler room. We are based in the heart of Salford and are a medium sized nursery. You will have at least 2 years experience as a room leader, have the ability to work independently and have good initiative. You must have a good knowledge of the EYFS framework and to be aware of all safeguarding issues. We are a really friendly team and were looking for someone to join as soon as possible.

About our nursery.
We are a medium sized nursery with around 50 children. We have rooms accordingly for the different ages such as a baby room, toddler room and a pre-school room.
We are a very busy nursery and we like to get the children involved into as much different types of play such as Imaginative, arts & crafts and out door play. We also hold different ceremonies and events such as our graduation garden party, Easter occasions, Christmas parties, etc.

What will be expected.
- To work as room leader and to implement the EYFS.
- To create rotas that satisfy all children and staff.
- To have good initiative.
- To always be proactive.
- To incorporate learning through play.
- To provide high standards of quality within the nursery including the environment, resources and experiences offered to children.
- To maintain accurate and effective children's records.
- To be aware of allergies for certain children to reduce risk.
- To promote and facilitate partnership with parents/carers and other family members.
- To support the development of good practice with various age groups but especially 2 year olds.
- To work with the Childcare and Education team to continuously improve quality of childcare and education.
- To ensure that children are kept safe and that staff understand and when necessary follow Safeguarding Procedures.
- To ensure that the nutritional needs of the children are met and that Food Safety Regulations are complied with.
- To be aware of current developments in childcare and education policy and practice.
