Nursery Manager Required:

This Nursery's aim as a Children's Centre is to provide a seamless service of support for families with children under 5 right through from pregnancy until school.

They provide a wide variety of sessions including Great Expectations, breastfeeding support and many stay and play sessions. The Children's Centre also runs a Chatterbox group which is a stay and play session with a baby weighing clinic covered by the local Health Visitor teams.

Groups and activities run by the Children's Centre follow the Five to Thrive approach. Five to Thrive is a family friendly approach to promoting healthy brain development and positive relationships. Central to the Five to Thrive approach is a set of five key activities: Respond, Cuddle, Relax, Play and Talk: all of which are promoted and encouraged during sessions by the Children's Centre staff.

This centre is looking for an experienced manger to start after Easter:

Description of Duties:

* Leading the promotion and development of an integrated education and day care
service that offers high quality experiences for children aged 0-5 years.

* Lead the daily operational routine to ensure the setting runs efficiently and effectively,
with a particular responsibility for safeguarding, child welfare and staffing routine.

* Lead the staff team to deliver a quality provision that complies with the statutory
framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage.

* Leading the staff team in self reflective practice and produce a professional development
plan for practitioners.

* Lead the development of professional practice through coaching and mentoring.

Leading and developing effective group practice and practitioner professional
development

Documentation and Record Keeping

Essential:
Minimum NVQ 3 or NNEB in Childcare and Education or relevant equivalent.
At least 3 years experience of working in a childcare setting, including the responsibility for
supervising early years practitioners.
Evidence of a commitment to continuous professional development.
Working knowledge of the Children's Act 2004, the Childcare Act 2006 and other relevant
current legislation.
An in depth knowledge of children's development.
An in depth knowledge of the EYFS Statutory Framework.

Ability to:
* Leading practice and working on own initiative as necessary.
* Communicate effectively with parents, carers and other professionals.
* Keep accurate records.
* Implement high health and safety standards.
* Motivate team members.
* Able to assist in the effective running of the nursery on a day to day basis.

* Establish positive relationships with children.
* Promote a stimulating and secure environment for children.
