job description

Nursery Room Leader (Pre-School) - REDBRIDGE

A Nursery situated within the London Borough of Redbridge is seeking to appoint a Room Leader to oversee a Pre-School room, a position that is temporary to permanent. The role begins as early as Monday, April 23.

This is a full time position and the hours are 8am - 5:30pm, Monday to Thursday. There may be some flexibility on the hours, but this would purely be at the Nursery Manager's discretion.

Salary: £18,000 - £19,000 per year

Are you an enthusiastic and dedicated Nursery Nurse seeking a new and exciting assignment within Early Years?

Does the opportunity to embrace a new challenge at this stage of your Early Years careers sound too good to turn down? Of course it does!

Duties and responsibilities of the role include:

1 Contributing to the creation of a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment for every child
2 Being responsible for the well being of all children in the Pre-School room you will be working in
3 Protecting children from any harm or abuse and reporting any concerns immediately to the designated Safeguarding Officer
4 Leading the planning and implementation of appropriate and stimulating activities
5 Utilising staff and resources effectively whilst maintaining appropriate ratios in your room
6 Tailoring best practice and routines to ensure that the individual needs of each child are able to be met throughout the day
7 Leading observations and child assessment, ensuring that records are kept up to date
8 Developing genuine bonds with key children and supporting colleagues to sensitively fulfil their key person responsibilities
9 Building trust with all parents/carers, ensuring that a positive relationship is sustained through open and honest communication
10 Ensuring that you contribute to the effective recording and resolution of any complaints or investigations, ensuring confidentiality at all times
11 Offering flexibly and being a team player, supporting colleagues wherever required
12 Attending reasonable out-of-hours activities, including training, staff meetings and parents evenings
13 Delegating tasks appropriately and identifying training needs

This is a well resourced Nursery that offers a safe and fun learning environment, utilising a wide range of carefully planned learning activities to engage curious minds.

Every member of staff here is fully trained within Early Years and the Nursery is extremely proud of the commitment levels of its staff. The safety of every child is, naturally, at the heart of everything the Nursery aspires to achieve, resulting in facilities that are continually maintained and regularly checked.

The Nursery is served by good transport links, including the London Underground and a variety of local bus routes, including those from neighbouring Boroughs.
