We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Payroll Advisor to join a payroll function within a Local Authority. If you would like to join one of the largest and most dynamic local authorities in the UK, which services a population of 2 million and has a very successful track record of delivering transformational change, please keep reading!

The role:

* Provide a high quality payroll and transaction service
* Using business knowledge to support internal and external customers
* Dealing with a high volume of diverse transactions
* Working to strict deadlines
* Undertake user acceptance testing
* Responsible for resolving queries
* Performing analytical processing within one or more of the payroll disciplines
* Ensuring data input is accurate
* Responsible for creating and distributing employment contracts
* Resolving payroll queries, meeting Service Level Agreements (SLAs)

To deliver on the above role you must be able to demonstrate:

* Education to GCSE level or equivalent by experience
* Experience of using payroll systems
* High standard of written communication
* Working collaboratively with colleagues to deliver good practice and advise on policy
* Ability to communicate effectively, demonstrating empathy
* Listening and questioning skills to a very high level
* Experience of working in a customer-orientated environment
* Dealing with a range of customer situations in a service delivery setting
* Continuously seeking to improve
