* To assist and advise Engineers and Project Managers in the control of projects, assisting with planning, production control, programming etc and all necessary associated procedures.
* To ensure that all contracts are planned in accordance with the set guidelines and that the appropriate Asta Powerproject programmes are used and maintained.
* To find the most cost effective way to undertake the installation at planning stage
* To have a responsibility to take care for the health and safety of others.


* To assist in the compilation of tender support documentation for the tender schemes within the Business Unit.
* To attend tender handover, planning, procurement, strategy and progress meetings as required.
* To attend all subsequent planning and procurement meetings as deemed necessary by liaison with the Project & Contracts Managers.
* To thoroughly study specifications, drawing and any relevant contract documents/correspondence in conjunction with the Engineers and Surveyors to ensure adequacy of the planning and programming on all projects.
* To ensure fully integrated and resourced M&E programmes (Information required, design, drawing, procurement, engineering, PRISM, construction, commissioning, O&M Manuals and handover) are drawn up for each contract in conjunction with the Project Team and ensure that they are updated from latest site progress reports of the installation of the works and represented internally and externally as appropriate and in accordance with best practice.
* To liaise with clients/main contractor programmers to ensure and agree with them that an agreed base line programme is in place prior to commencement of works.
* To liaise with the Project Team in the production of the Plan and Procurement Schedules that link in all cases with all sections on the integrated programme.
* To liaise with the Project Team to ensure that site records and project reports are produced and issued in accordance with best practice, company procedures and project requirements to allow proper management and commercial protection to be achieved.
* To liaise closely with the Project Team to ensure timely production of any short term programmes, claim programmes, cause and effect studies, labour histograms etc
* To manage the production control process in setting up operation schedules to which material and labour costs will be allocated. These operations will be linked their relevant activities on the integrated programme to monitor the effect of any changes to the plan or programme throughout the project.
* To liaise with the Project Manager during the contract, to review any problem programme operations and use the information for feedback on the future planning and estimating.
* To assist the Project Team in setting up labour operations / labour targets in line with the programme. These operations shall be identifiable against each productive activity on the programme to facilitate surveyors evaluating such changes and their affect on the contract.
* To assist the project surveyor with the identification of variations to be displayed on the programme to show effect of labour / time requirements.
* Ensure compliance with all Company Standards and Procedures.
