We have an exciting long-term maternity cover role for a Reception Class Teacher at a welcoming, progressive community Primary School in Stevenage, Hertfordshire. The position is full time 5 days per week and expected to last for a minimum of 2 terms.

* To create a secure, caring and stimulating environment for the Reception class pupils
* Provide an independent approach to learning based on first-hand experiences which open up natural curiosity
* Dedicate yourself and take every opportunity to expand every child's learning experience
* Promote and support the children to explore and develop their learning in all 7 areas of the EYFS
* Encourage children to constantly develop, to be independent, resilient, capable, confident and self-assured.
* Have clear routines for the daily management of resources, work areas and children's belongings
* Prepare the children and give them the tools and skills in the prime areas to thrive when they move into Key Stage 1.


* Hold qualified teacher status (QTS)
* Have experience teaching the EYFS curriculum in a similar role in a primary school
* Strive to provide an outstanding education for all pupils every day
* Be committed, patient, caring and kind with a determined approach
* Be able to engage and develop relationships with a diverse community
* Have fantastic communication skills, and not be afraid to voice new ideas
