Are you a Principal Civil Engineer? Looking for a new role? Experienced in highways design?

Randstad are currently recruiting for a Principal Civil Engineer to work in Plymouth on a permanent basis. The client is looking for someone with experience in such a role to join their team that delivers creative solutions for civil engineering projects. As a Principal Engineer, you will undertake the design and project management on various civil infrastructure related projects. Reporting into the associate, this role will provide technical design to ensure projects are delivered to quality and budget but also developing internal relations and provide support to junior staff.


- MEng / BEng / BSc in Civil Engineering.

- IEng / CEng.

- Highway design skills including a working knowledge of Design Manual for Roads and Bridges, Manual for Streets and Local Authority Design Guides for Highways in Residential and Commerical Estates.

- Drainage Design Skills including working knowledge of Sewers for Adoption, Building Regulations Part H and the SUDS manual.

- Chartered Engineer status.

- At least 5 years experience in UK highway and drain design for Consulting Engineer or a Local Highway authority.

- Sound and proven Civils 3D, PDS or MOSS/MX

- Sound knowledge of construction contracts and commercial awareness.

- Knowledge of CDM regulations and duties.

Preferred requirements;

- Knowledge of NEC3.

- Proven ability in WINDES.

- Site supervision experience of civil engineering projects.
