Randstad Engineering are currently recruiting for a Production Planner to work for their client based in the West Midlands.

As a Production Planner you will be required to generate production schedules and drive accurate executive across the company's production and supply base.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks

* Responsible for maintaining the body pipeline with forward build plans to ensure correct buffer levels are maintained throughout the factory.
* Generate internal vehicle schedules in line with constraints, from both internal processes and external supply.
* Create schedules for internal sub assembly to ensure parts available on time for Production Assy.
* Liaise with Logistics and Material Planning teams to ensure material availability for build and optimum kitting window visibility.
* Act as an OK/NOK gate for loading cars into Production.
* Drive Build to Sequence accuracy through the Production shops and lead Problem Counter Measure activity to promote continual improvement.
* Close management of Q cars through the factory to ensure no impact through Production Planning.
* Liaise with Special Vehicle Operations Leader to ensure products are built on time.
* Drive Model Year changes through the factory to ensure clean cut offs and smooth ramp up for new models coming in.
* Track priority cars to ensure build on time.
* Report key operating stats into the Manufacturing Control Room and out to the business.
* Lead Control Room escalations to ensure smooth Production running and build to plan.
* Collate and report shop downtime with Problem Counter Measure activity to promote continual improvement.
* Manage Wholesales through the factory to ensure daily Production targets are met without issue.
* Any other related tasks to maintain or improve production scheduling & execution.

Qualifications and Experience

* Highly numerical person with great attention to detail.
* An awareness of Lean Manufacturing / Production Assembly systems and processes would be an advantage but not essential
* Automotive manufacturing experience desirable.
* High degree of MS Office knowledge is essential (with emphasis on Excel).
