Are you an experienced Design Surveyor, seeking your next contract in South Wales?

My client has an immediate opportunity for a Senior Design Surveyor to join their Capital Works Team on an initial interim basis.

The successful candidate will lead the Capital Works Team in respect of Project Design, Specification and Procurement. Be a line manager, coach and mentor a small team of trainee surveyors delivering the Capital Works programme of regeneration, improvement and Major Repairs.

Responsibilities:



1 Work with and assist the Capital Works Manager to deliver the Capital Works Programme
2 Lead, manage and motivate the team of Trainee Surveyors, monitoring and appraising performance, allocating day to day work.
3 Rationalise data from Asset Management and produce Project Briefs using asset management data and ensure they are of a sufficient standard that enables the procurement of suitable contracts in accordance with the Public Procurement regulations
4 Procure various projects (from £25k - £1m+) with the overall Capital Works budget in mind.
5 Produce detailed specifications and detailed drawings to enable successful tender packages to be put together for Capital Works Projects.
6 Ensure projects have fulfilled their statutory and legislative requirements prior to advertising the tender. E.g. asbestos, fire regulations, building regulations, planning legislation.
7 Act as a Principal Designer, as defined under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulation 2015. Complete Principal Designer tasks and documentation.
8 Produce and develop tender documentation and select contractors after leading the tender evaluation process.
9 Act as a design advisor and facilitator to other departments across the business such as Development, Facilities, Estates and Leasehold teams.
10 Act the Principal user of Computer Aided Design (CAD) software and produce and review technical drawings, details and specifications.

Requirements:



* Relevant HND/HNC qualification or equivalent
* Construction (Design and Management) Regulation 2015 qualification
* Knowledge of the Public Procurement Regulations 2015
* Experience preparing specifications and tender documentation
