Job Title: Project Manager - London

Salary: Competitive

My client are one of the UK's leading flooring experts and offer access to a vast range of flooring solutions available to both the commercial and residential markets. They are a division of a much larger business who are experts in commercial interior design and fit-out.

They are currently recruiting for a Project Manager to join their succesful and busy team and will be responsible for the successful initiation, planning, procurement, execution and commercial performance of all flooring projects under their ownership.

Role description:

* Have a full understanding of scope of works/ nature of work and changes, including regular checks of design information
* Have a full understanding of contractual obligations (attendances, contract programme and pricing)
* Carry out pre-start visit and checks
* Challenge buying rates with supply chain
* Order and control materials accurately and in a timely manner
* Effectively liaise with each client team
* Organise and control stock and installation resource for each project; ensuring service quality is kept to the highest level
* Check, manage and ensure timely progress of works
* Delegate tasks to admin and site supervisors where appropriate and whilst maintaining ownership
* Programme works and communicate any issues with the client in a timely manner
* Coordinate and maintain health and safety documentation
* Full commercial management of all allocated projects, maximising GP wherever possible; cashcollection
* Raise variations, quantify and price within 48 hours; raise applications / invoices by due date
* Snag project before handover to client and ensure to deliver with zero defects
* Ensure timely raising of O&M manuals
* Ensure contract paperwork is up to date at all time (toolbox talks, weekly reports etc)

Core competencies…

* Comprehensive knowledge of flooring installations of all types
* Independent, and able to 'stand on own two feet' but able to work within a team
* Ability to take full ownership of task / project
* Astute commercial awareness and management
* Technical knowledge of products and sub floors
* Strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritise workloads and work under pressure
* Relevant CSCS and Health and Safety qualifications
* Able to build strong relationships with high quality installation teams
