Are you an experienced Social Worker within Children's Social Services, passionate about ensuring the families you work with receive the help they need? If so, Durham County Council are looking for an Enhanced Social Worker to work the Fostering Support Team East based in Seaham. This is a fantastic opportunity for a possible 6 month contract with the view to extend this further.

You will be working within a supportive team with a committed leadership team which is focused on improving the outcomes of families across County Durham.



As a Social Worker on the Fostering Support Team, you will be responsible for the day to day management of cases within a small team that completes form C assessments alongside providing support and supervision to foster carers and Family Finding for children whose care plan is one of permanence This would also involve a safeguarding caseload.



This is a full time role which is 37 hours per week. The majority of staff work 5 days per week however, Flexible working hours are available.

As a Social Worker on the Fostering team you will be responsible for:



Carrying a complex caseload and maintaining accurate, up to date files
Working directly with families, children and young people of a set age range
Carrying out initial / core assessments and reviews
Developing and implementing child centred care plans
Report writing
Liaising with other professional bodies where appropriate
Carry out home visits, visits to children's homes, child protection investigations and possibly attend court
Setting high standards is key and must deliver excellent practice, motivating all staff to do the same.
