Are you an experienced Quantity Surveyor looking for an exciting new project? If so, I have a permanent opportunity. A Quantity Surveying role has landed in Dover, Kent.



* Location - Dover, Kent.

The Project

An exciting civil engineering project in the Kent area working with a reputable client and contractor. This is an opportunity to work on a prestigious project in the local area of East Kent. This project will include, heavy civil engineering works as well as a multitude of new build developments and refurbishments.

The role



* To act as frameworks manager and administer multiple maintenance, civils, M&E and new contracts
* Working along side the projects manager, project management teams and the programme office, in the control and delivery of the commercial and financial requirements of contracts that arise from the delivery of projects.
* Regular communication with the Board's technical and financial staff
* Provide an employer's month evaluation of works, or the verification of applications for payments from the contracts
* Advise Project Managers on contract compliance
* To carry out cost estimating, cost planning and cost reporting throughout all stages of the project.
* To provide advice on procurement routes and delivering the procurement process.
* To bring to early attention any situation or incident that may expose the board to a significant risk that may not have been recorded on the appropriate risk register.

Generic Duties



* Comply with environmental instructions and to identify potential risks to the environment
* Identify and manage risks, particularly those which affect safety. To facilitate effective communication on risk and safety issues at all time.

About You



* Educated to HNC level
* A minimum of 5 years experience in Quantity Surveying
* Good knowledge of NEC forms of contract
* Knowledge and experience of a range of civil engineering, building and M&E projects
* To demonstrate experience of working with a project management team
* Able to demonstrate a high standard of negotiating skills
* To demonstrate a good level of cost management
* To demonstrate a good understanding of risk management
* High level of expertise in Microsoft Excel and word
* A good understanding of MS Project
* A good understanding of ERP, tendering, contract administration and document sharing softwares

Desirable skills



* Educated to degree level
* Professional accreditation
* Three years experience managing own projects for civil engineering, M&E or Infrastructure background
* Experience of working in live operational and customer facing environments
* Experience of working with the NSR and/or PSA schedule of rates and measured term contracts
* Experience working within a framework relationship involving either single or multiple contractors.
