My client, a well established Social Housing Organsiation are currently looking to recruit a Rent Income Officer, in their Seaham branch.

This is a temporary job role, for a minimum of 3 months, with the possibility of going longer term.

You will be required to work 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Pay rate is £10-£11 per hour

Duties of the role include:

* Control the transfer of relevant information to and from rent accounts and amend tenancy information and authorise refunds where appropriate.
* Control the rent roll and debit, including clearing of suspense accounts.
* Control the issues and setting up of sundry debtor accounts pertaining to properties and tenants.
* Investigate, answer queries and deal with correspondence from internal and external customers in writing or by telephone.
* Liaise with external agencies, i.e. Department for Work and Pensions, Housing Benefits, and Citizens Advise Bureaus etc to resolve queries and issues arising.
* Provide detailed advice and information on all aspects of the housing rent system for tenants and other departments.
* Balance cash on a regular basis to comply with audit requirements.
* Control process for Direct Debits.
* To deputise for the Senior Rental Officer in their absence.
* Manage health and safety issues in your area of responsibility in line with the relevant section(s) of the relevant Health and Safety Policy.
* Comply with the client's confidentiality and information security policies at all times.
Your duties may vary from time to time within the broad remit of your role and grade. You are required to undertake any such reasonable and appropriate duties.

Requirements of the role:
*Minimum of 5x GCSEs (Grade C or above)
*Must have previous experience in a finance environment and using housing management systems
*Ability to think, plan and manage time effectively
*Good effective communication skills both written and verbal, with internal and external customers.
*Ability to use information technology to a high level of competence
*Ability to present information clearly
*Knowledge of tenant / Landlord obligations relating to the role
