Sales Manager
Manchester
Salary - DOE + Bonus + Car allowance + benefits

An experienced Sales Manager is required to join a global chemical distribution company in Manchester.

You will be joining one of the largest depots in the UK and will be responsible for managing a team of 8 consisting of both internal and external sales representatives to continue the development of the company's market position and increase the market share.

You will also be required to:-



* Ensure the business consistently exceeds customer expectations whilst driving sales and optimising margins to ensure site achieves EBITDA budget and delivers to both working capital targets health & safety KPI's.
* Lead, Coach and develop the sales team, including undertaking regular team briefs, performance reviews and goal-setting to address any performance and training requirements and assist with individual's career development.
* Developing the site sales strategy in line with the wider business strategy
* Control of the site sales budget and order pipeline
* Proactively drive sales of slow moving stock holding in support of site stock holding and working capital targets
* Developing the site customer base including proactively marketing the company's value added solutions
* Conduct and complete appropriate reports
* Report into the General Manager
* Engage in price negotiations and quotations
* Develop and maintain a strong relationships across the site customer base
* Engage in sales drives for specific products
* Identify, define and drive commercial & supply chain initiatives/improvement plans to take advantage of market opportunities which will deliver additional / new Gross margin.
* Act as the leading representative with Strategic customers, In region customers and suppliers in collaboration with Business Development and Product Managers
* Regular interaction with other unit managers and product management
* Liaise and meet with Head Office based commercial, product & business management teams to ensure compliance with existing group supply agreements & involvement in the negotiation of new supply agreements as appropriate.

The ideal candidate will have:-



* A proven track record of formulating and delivering a successful sales strategy in line with corporate direction
* Demonstrable history of new business wins, driving organic growth within existing customer base sales and margin growth
* Excellent people management skills with the ability to lead, mentor and coach commercial / sales best practice to others.
* Analysis of sales data and trend reporting
* Experience delivering presentations
* Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with both customers, external and internal stakeholders
* Knowledge of the Chemical or Food industry (desirable)
* Excellent Computer Skills including the use of Microsoft Office packages and ERP systems
* Highly organised team player with an eye for attention to detail
* A flexible attitude and positive approach to change.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, and the ability to build key relationships internally and externally.
