This specialist small school in the Arundel area are looking for the next star to add to their core team working with children between the ages of 11 and 16. This school supports children with social, emotional and mental health challenges and are looking for a resilient candidate who will be able to build trusting relationships. Ideally they are looking for someone who can demonstrate patience and empathy whilst encouraging the students to become independent.

Key Responsibilities:
* An understanding of each students' individual health plan
* Liaise with teacher to ensure all learners are supported
* Engage with the learners to keep them on task
* Assist during break duty, outings and class activities
* Deliver 1:1 or small group focused lessons when required
* Helping the teacher to set up lessons
* Contributing to continued academic and social growth of each child
* Adapting teaching style to ensure it reaches every child

Requirements:
Please note that candidates who do not meet the essential criteria for this role will not be considered.

Essential:
* Previous experience working with SEMH students (child or/and adults)
* Ability to look after the student's physical, social and emotional health
* Good maths and English skills
* 2 references from the last 5 years (1 must be a full child-based safeguarding reference)

Desired:
* An up-to-date DBS on the update service
* A job history for the last 10 years
* Patience and flexibility to deal with changes that may present themselves due to the nature of the learners
