A specialised school located near the Brighton area is looking for an experienced teaching assistant to join their thriving team. Your role is essential in the progress of the students' educational and pastoral development.
This school has learners that are on the Autistic spectrum ranging from high and low functioning learners.
You will need to have an understanding of how to communicate and support learners with these different needs.

Your responsibilities will include:
Assist students during class making sure they are on track
Liaise with class teacher to ensure a smooth running class
Support the pastoral needs of the learners
Be an active part in setting the learning environment
Support learners on a 1:1 base and part of a small group in a range of activities through out the day
Supervision of children during their playtimes/lunch breaks


The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and capabilities:
Ability to work with learners that have various learning difficulties
Willingness to learn and build relationships with learners
Confidence in leading groups in different educational subjects
The ability to work as an individual and as part of the team
Have an understanding of the students with emotional needs
