A specialised school, based near the Crawley area, for learners between the ages of 5 and 19 years is looking for a teaching assistant to support the needs of their learners. The majority of students are on the Autistic spectrum and have social and emotional difficulties which do come with challenges as well as strengths.

Your role as a teaching assistant will be to support and guide the students through their school day making sure they have a fun, are safe and educational experience because no day will be the same!

Your responsibilities will include:
* Supporting a small of group learners educationally and pastorally
* Encourage learners to be independent
* Comfortable with, and confident to, work directly with students
* Positive and compassionate attitude towards learners

The ideal candidate may posses the following skills and capabilities:
* To provide teaching assistance to the teacher defined according to weekly/daily/sessional planning of the teacher
* To provide group and/or individual activities, planned by the teacher
* To work individually with learners/students to develop work.
* To support the general well being of learners within the structure of the school
* To monitor and evaluate learners' learning under the guidance of the teacher
* To assist teachers in the use of relevant management strategies to ensure a purposeful environment for teaching and learning to take place
* To support all learners in their planned structured work in all curriculum areas
