I am recruiting for a passionate teaching assistant to join an Outstanding special needs school in the Guildford area. All students are on the Autistic Spectrum and aged 6-19 years. The school is well known for its development programme where all staff members will receive weekly training whilst working. Management and staff are extremely supportive and no day will be the same!

Your responsibilities will include:
* Encouraging students to become independent
* Working directly with students
* Providing teaching assistance to the teacher according to weekly/daily/sessional planning
* Providing group and/or individual activities, planned by the teacher
* Working individually with students to develop their progression
* Supporting the general well being of learners within the structure of the school
* Monitoring and evaluating students' learning under the guidance of the teacher
* Assisting teachers in the use of relevant management strategies to ensure a purposeful environment for teaching and learning to take place
* Supporting all learners in their planned structured work in all curriculum areas

The ideal candidate may possess the following skills and capabilities:
* The ability to work with learners that have various learning difficulties
* An understanding of the students with special needs
* Willingness to learn and build relationships with learners
* Confidence in support the lead in groups, in different educational subjects
* The ability to work as an individual and as a part of the team
* Flexibility in your approach to education
* Experience working in SEND settings (desirable but not essential)
