I am recruiting for a passionate teaching assistant to join a warm and welcoming special needs school in the Guildford area. The SEN school provides 'Outstanding' lessons for students (aged 6-16) on the autistic spectrum. Management and staff are well known for their positive focus, development programs and open-minded approach to all students, and the school also provides teachers with training whilst working. You will receive certificates in Autism awareness, Team Teach, Mindfulness and Makaton.

Your responsibilities include:
- Assisting students during class, making sure they are on track
- Liaising with class teachers to ensure a smooth-running class
- Supervision of children during their play times/lunch breaks
- Enabling learners to access the curriculum
- Supporting students' pastoral needs
- Being an active part in setting the learning environment
- Supporting learners on a 1:1 basis and as part of a small group in a range of activities throughout the day
- Using your interests to engage students in learning

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and capabilities:

- The ability to work with learners with various learning difficulties
- An understanding of Autism (desirable but not essential)
- A willingness to learn and build relationships with students
- Confidence in supporting the lead in groups, in different educational subjects
- The ability to work as an individual and as a part of the team
- A flexible approach to education
- Own means of transport (essential)
