Working with special needs students is a rewarding career in which you guide, support and comfort students who may find everyday tasks challenging: I am recruiting for a Teaching Assistant who has the compassion needed to perform this role.

The school, based in the Guildford area, aims to meet the educational, care and therapeutic needs of children aged 6-16 years. The students have a range of special needs including general learning disabilities and Autistic Spectrum Conditions (ASC). The school also provides outstanding training support and career progression schemes.

Your responsibilities will include:
-Working on a 1:1 basis and in small groups with pupils
-Providing feedback to the teacher regarding students' progress and development
-Creating a secure and positive classroom environment
-Supervising and monitoring behaviour
-Following the individual learning plans set by the teacher

An ideal candidate may possess the following:
-The ability to build positive and appropriate relationships with students and teachers
-A passion for working with SEN children
-Own means of transport (essential)
-The ability to support the general well-being of students
-Good numeracy and literacy skills
