SEN Teaching Assistant
Do you aim to inspire and encourage students? Are you looking for a permanent role? Can you work effectively alongside the main teacher to produce fun lessons?

This specialised school is well known for its unique approach to learning. The school provide a variety of lessons in and out of the classroom. Students can choose to care and ride horses or participate in musical therapy working with different musical instruments. Subjects are varied each day, to provide a creative, physical and theoretical curriculum. Furthermore, every Friday you will be invited with the students to join them on an outdoor educational visit. This may include a History lesson in the countryside, or a trip to a local community centre to volunteer.

This specialised school and further education training centre is based in East Grinstead, however you do need your transport as it is not accessible by public transport.

The East Grinstead based school provides day and residential education for children and young people aged 7 -19 who have a range of social, emotional, behavioural or communication difficulties. The school are looking for a creative and enthusiastic member to join their team.

Your role as a teaching assistant will include the following:

Provide additional (often 1-to-1) support to students
To work with students in their main class settings
Accompany students to their subject lessons and off-site activities
Helping the younger children find their way between classes
Supporting students' individual learning needs on a daily basis
Accompanying older students to college

The ideal candidate may posses the following skills and capabilities:

Be flexible in their approach to education.
Be able to work with learners that have various learning difficulties.
Have an understanding of the students with emotional needs.
Willingness to learn and build relationships with learners.
Be confident to support the lead in groups, in different educational subjects.
The ability to work as an individual and as a part of the team.
