I am recruiting for a teaching assistant to join a warm and welcoming school in the Horsham area. Staff and management are very supportive and you will be provided with weekly training, such as Autism awareness, Makaton and Team teach. All students are on the Autistic Spectrum and are aged 6-19. The school offers a very creative curriculum with outdoor lessons - Forest school, Horticulture, Woodwork and outdoor swimming lessons in the summer.

In this role as a Teaching Assistant you will be:
* Enabling learners to access the curriculum.
* Supporting the pastoral needs of the learners.
* Being an active part in setting the learning environment.
* Supporting learners on a 1:1 base and part of a small group.
* Supporting learners in a range of activities.
* Using your interests to engage learners in learning.

The ideal candidate may possess the following skills and capabilities:
* The ability to work with learners that have various learning difficulties.
* An understanding of the students with emotional needs.
* Willingness to learn and build relationships with learners.
* Confidence in supporting group work in different educational subjects.
* The ability to work as an individual and as a part of the team.
* Flexibility in their approach to education.
