Are you a marketing professional with a strong career history in data management and insights? Do you have a passion for the charity sector and have the ability to lead a team of 4? If so this could be a great opportunity for you!

Our client is a globally recognised charity that provides volunteers services overseas! They are currently looking to recruit for a senior data and insights team manager for their offices in Kingston, this role is ideal for someone with a strong insight marketing background who will be confident in providing strategic oversight with regards to data led marketing, picking up current initiatives, making tweaks and growing the team further.

This role offers excellent workplace flexibility, allowing the successful candidate to work from home twice a week if they prefer.

The ideal candidate with have a strong background in data and insight strategy, database management, data quality and integration and insight analysis. The global data will be used to help with marketing strategy in relation to fundraising, volunteer attraction and brand awareness, as well as for things like volunteer/customer experience and the wider organisation!

This will be a very rewarding role that will help the charity connect better with their donors, volunteers and they people they reach!

Job purpose:

Lead the data and insight strategy, provision and legal compliance across functions. Develop insight and analysis to inform critical business decisions and strategic focus.

Data and Insight strategy:

-Lead on creation and delivery of a data and insight strategy that supports the charity's ambition to grow fundraising, volunteering and advocacy.
Lead the organisation in the sophisticated use of database marketing and insight techniques.
Align the strategy with organisational objectives and ensure it is widely understood, reviewed regularly and with a clear implementation plan.

Database management:
- ensure tools and technology support are fit-for-purpose, working with IT and external suppliers. Drive integration of all data to create a single customer view.
-Lead on procuring innovative tools that can enhance our use of data and produce insightful information.

Data quality and integrity:
- maximise the volume, quality and accessibility of data gathered across the charity in order to optimise impact of contact with supporters - implement training, benchmarking and checking to achieve this.

Insight analysis:
- provide meaningful insight and analysis to teams and management to guide critical decision-making.
Position insight at the core of the charity's supporter relationship, inspiring an agile approach.

Knowledge management:
- ensure that processes are fully documented and shared within the team and beyond.
Data services
- lead on and shape data requirements across the charity, ensuring client requirements are met, identifying and resolving conflicts and dependencies as required.

Customer Relationship Management:
- Work closely with cross functional teams to develop an implement an integrated CRM system. Alongside a CRM system it is working with key teams to deliver a robust customer experience plan and ways of tracking satisfaction to enable continuous improvement initiatives.

Data protection:
- responsible for ensuring everything is legally compliant in use and storage of customer data, implementing staff procedures as required.

Leadership:
- manage and motivate a high performing team(s) within the performance management framework. Lead regular progress review meetings and ensure behavioural expectations established.

Resource management:
- work with teams to understand future plans and ensure team has skills and capabilities to support ambitions for growth. Prioritise work in line with Corporate objectives and stakeholder requirement and communicate these decisions effectively to ensure buy-in. Use external support where required.

Finance: Effectively develop and manage a budget to agreed limits, making and implementing recommendations for cost savings where appropriate.



Essential Skills and Experience:

Skills/Knowledge:

-Knowledge of the practical application of a variety of models for managing data quality in a complex user environment.

-A good understanding of data protection legislation and its application to direct marketing activity.

-Excellent knowledge and practical experience of using database marketing techniques to deliver results.

-Experience of working in a multi-product and multi-audience environment

-Proven project management skills, with significant experience of delivering projects on time and within quality and resource targets.

-People Management, ability to lead, develop, coach and support a high performing team.

-Relationship Building, ability to build strong working relationships across teams.


Experience:

-Experience of working with a large-scale marketing database with multiple inputs.

-SQL, Salesforce and Excel proficiency - Access experience also ideal

-Experience managing teams, of at least 2+ people

-Demonstrable experience of using analysis of customer data to improve performance and drive business strategy.

-Experience of producing or commissioning analysis of customer behaviour, trends and profiles.


Desirable:

-Experience of working with Raiser's Edge
-Experience in building or commissioning intuitive and effective GUIs (graphical user interfaces) for users or customers.
