Senior Quantity Surveyor

Are you a Senior Quantity Surveyor looking for an opportunity to be commercial lead? Would you like to work on a large scheme in Kent?

Contract Type - Permanent

Location -Kent

Salary - £75,000 plus package

Client: An award winning contractor with a diverse range of projects throughout Kent. This is a fantasic opportunity for a Kent based Senior Quantity Surveyor to improve on work/life balance as this contractor has a great pipeline of work in the county. If joining a successful and established contractor with a turnover of £50mil + appeals to you, then this is the opportunity you have been waiting for!

Position: Seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to manage a JCT D&B new build Scheme in Kent. The value of this project in approximately £20million and you will be supported by an Assistant, this scheme has a programme of 80 weeks.

Your duties will include ensuring the financial position of the Construction Project is accurately reported and controlled effectively, as well as managing contractual relationships and mentoring junior staff.

* Manage commercial resources to maximise margin through the placement of subcontractor contracts.
* Control subcontract packages from enquiry through to final account.
* Package management and change control.
* Regularly review with the team contractual risks and implement strategies to mitigate risk.
* Assessment of variations and valuations of subcontractor accounts.
* Authorise placement of contracts, materials and plant orders.
* Maximise cash flow through the control, measurement, negotiation, invoicing and payment of the supply chain.


* Previous experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor working for a Main Contractor
* Project experience in Commercial, Retail or Industrial
* HNC / HND / Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or Civil Engineering is desirable but not a necessity
* Highly Organised
* Good negotiation skills
