Randstad are pleased to be sourcing for an experienced SHE Manager to work with one of the fastest growing UK main contractors. It is due to a successful period of work winning and expansion they they are seeking an additional SHE Manager to cover projects across Essex, London, Kent and surrounding areas.

The Job

To ensure the effective implementation of the SHE Management systems and ensure the effective management of health, safety and environmental aspects across the business.

* Ensure that the Company procedure is promoted and adhered to on all projects, and that all site activities are undertaken in line with this
* Carry out safety audits & inspections, reviewing health and safety issues, addressing and implementing change as required.
* Promote a positive Health and Safety culture throughout the business and promote Health & Safety best practice, campaigns and innovation.
* Be aware of current legislation.
* Ensure activities observed are carried out in accordance with the current legislation and industry best practice
* Where appropriate attend meetings with clients demonstrating, and reinforcing SHE procedures.
* Assist in the monitoring and review of the company procedures and working procedures and assist in continual improvement.
* To respond to requests for advice which fall within the SHE Manager's area of expertise, through discussion with the Regional SHE Manager if required, and others where necessary.
* Investigating accidents and incidents producing detailed factual reports identifying root causes and recommendations for improvement.
* Monitor work activities on site and when required provide advice and guidance on safe working practices to all contractors.

Candidate Skills and Experience

* 5 - 10-year experience in similar role within the Construction Industry and preferable with a main contractor
* Demonstrate knowledge of current Safety, Health and Environmental legislation

Qualifications - Essential:

* NEBOSH General Certificate in Health & Safety
* NEBOSH Certificate in Construction Health & Safety

Qualifications - Preferable:

* NVQ (Level 4 - 6) Occupational Health and Safety
* NEBOSH Environmental or equivalent
* PTLLS Level 3 / 4
* Technician / Graduate Member of IOSH

A full UK driving licence is also essential
