We have a new Freelance Site Engineer role available in Cambridge. Are you looking for a new contract?

Position: Site Engineer

Location: Cambridge, Cambridgeshire

Contract Type: Freelance

Duration: Approx. 6 months initially

Rate: £220 - £340 per day dependant on kit

The Project:

Our client oversee a variety of projects across the region as a Groundworks Subcontractor. These vary from residential to commercial builds so an adaptable, experienced engineer is required.

The Role:

Our client is looking for an experienced site engineer to support multiple projects. The main duties will include:

* Set up site dimensional control and maintain
* Establish systems to record the work completed
* Understand and assist with site safety systems
* Liaise with workforce and contractors regarding setting out information
* Assist and prepare sketches for distribution and ensuring all teams understand the plans
* Preparation of as-builts
* All relevant Q&A with the project
* Be available and able to communicate well with all teams to ensure technical problems are overcome and queries answered

About you:

* HND as a minimum qualification
* Very strong civils experience, in particular setting out road line and level, curbs, road drainage, foundations and brickwork.
* Able to read/interpret drawings well.
* Must have own laptop, the rest of the kit will be provided
* Excellent interpersonal skills
* Working knowledge of CAD
* Relevant CSCS card - White card as a minimum
* SSSTS or above
