Speech and Language Therapist

Roles and responsibilities

- Speech and Language Therapist to work within a mainstream primary school setting with some children from the nursery on the caseload.

- The caseload is prioritised by the school and is a busy, varied caseload.

- You will be working to a good timetable which uses both groups and individual sessions to manage the caseload.

- You will be working closely with the Inclusion Manager and Deputy Head.

- Interventions being used currently include colourful semantics, social stories, and makaton.

- The position is available ideally on a full time basis, but part-time applications may be considered.

- Applications from Band 5 newly qualified practitioner's will be welcome.


- Degree in Speech and Language Therapy or equivalent.

- Member of the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC).

- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work flexibly, under direction and independently where necessary.

- Must have an understanding of language and speech delays/disorders, assessments and interventions used in primary schools.

- Must be happy to commit to the role from June 2018 to July 2019.
