job description

Do you consider yourself to be a model Primary Supply Teacher? Of course you do!

If you're seeking a short or long-term day-to-day supply teaching position, we have a couple of opportunities that we would like to speak to you about.

We are working closely with a Primary school based within South East London who are looking to recruit three teachers, all positions beginning ASAP.

The specific vacancies are Year 3, Year 5 and Year 6.

The school is looking to employ on a day-to-day supply basis initially, in order for both them and the teacher to gauge whether a long term teaching arrangement can be agreed upon. This is necessary as the posts may even run through until the end of the academic year.

Benefits of the role are:

* Working within a school that embraces community cohesion and works well to establish positive, strong relationships with carers, parents and families
* Working in a role that allows you to provide a safe and secure environment in which children thrive and feel valued
* Being based within a single school, allowing you to build relationships with your colleagues and pupils
* The chance to exchange ideas with other teachers, which can lead to new and/or different ways of teaching
* Working within a team that provides every child with a broad and balanced education, resulting in a love of learning

Responsibilities of the role:

* Ensuring the highest standard of physical, emotional and social care for each child
* Being an outstanding role model for the children at all times
* Providing pupils with necessary feedback, encouragement and support
* Being innovative, progressive, forward thinking and outward looking in your style of teaching
* (Occasionally) supervising pupils during events and projects outside of the classroom, such as cultural outings, field trips and excursions
* Ensuring inclusivity in your own and your colleagues' behaviour
* Maintaining high expectations and aspirations for all pupils
* Creating a positive learning environment through professionally planned lessons and classroom displays

Candidate requirements:

* You will need to hold UK QTS or be suitably qualified to teach in UK schools
* You must have experience working with children
* You must possess effective classroom management strategies
* You must strive to ensure that every child succeeds to the best of their ability
* You must have a DBS already on the Update Service (or be willing to complete a new DBS application)
* You must have the ability to communicate effectively with others
* You must be punctual
* To have knowledge of the KS1/KS2 Curriculum

Long term supply teachers have the same teaching responsibilities as permanent members of staff. You will prepare lesson plans and teach pupils in accordance with the national curriculum, as well as being responsible for marking students' work and giving feedback and support as appropriate.
