Role: SEN Teaching Assistant- Salary Band: £12,000 - £15,000 - Location: Crawley
Are you a compassionate and patient person?
Do you enjoy working with SEN children and making a difference to their lives? If the answer is yes then this role is for you.

You would be joining a school based near the Crawley area which is easily accessible by public transport.

The specialised school has modern, attractive state of the art buildings and equipment uniquely designed to be pupil and staff friendly.

This specialised school is a non-maintained special school designed to meet the educational, behavioural, care and therapeutic needs for children (age 5-15 years).All the children are on the Autistic spectrum which means they may exhibit a range of difficulties and also strengths.

This school is looking for a teaching assistant who is dedicated and committed to providing the best guidance and support through out the day for its learners.

Your responsibilities include:
Assist students during class making sure they are on track.
Liaise with class teacher to ensure a smooth running class.
Supervision of children during their playtimes/lunch breaks.
Enabling learners to access the curriculum.
Support the pastoral needs of the learners.
Be an active part in setting the learning environment.
Supporting learners on a 1:1 base and part of a small group in a range of activities through out the day
Using your interests to engage learners in learning.

The ideal candidate may posses the following skills and capabilities:

Be able to work with learners that have various learning difficulties.
Have an understanding of the students with emotional needs.
Willingness to learn and build relationships with learners.
Be confident to support the lead in groups, in different educational subjects.
The ability to work as an individual and as a part of the team.
Be flexible in their approach to education.
