A college near Woking is looking for a Teaching Assistant to work with SEN pupils in the mainstream department, ensuring they are able to access the curriculum. This is many of the students' last stage of education, so they will need support in learning the life skills needed for the world of work once they have left school.

Your responsibilities will include:
-Helping to build students' confidence and motivation
-Acting as a liaison between tutors and students
-Physically supporting learners; pushing wheelchairs, working with animals and working outside in all weathers
-Managing behaviour and helping students to access the curriculum
-Ensuring accurate student records are maintained

An ideal candidate may possess the following:
-The ability to adapt to a range of working environments and cater for different learning abilities
-An understanding of health and safety implications
-Self-motivation and the ability to work as part of a team
-Significant experience working with young people or adults with a range of learning difficulties
-GCSE grade C or above in Maths and English
-Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
-An ability and a willingness to travel between sites on a regular basis
