A very well known client in Newport are looking for a Infrastructure Team Manager for the software/ hardware purchasing within the business.

There are three main areas of responsibilities for this post:
Operational Change

* Follow guidelines to ensure requests received by Change management are processed ensuring the efficient and prompt handling of all changes, to minimize the impact of change-related incidents upon service.
* Participate in the Change Approval Board (CAB) and the Emergency committee taking actions during and follow up actions as requested by the CAB members.
* Review and close Requests for Change (RFCs) ensuring outcomes are recorded and problem records escalated as required.
* Manage Requests for Change (RFCs) to ensure incidents are resolved effectively

Asset Management

* Ensure the software approval process is followed to provide effective use of licenses and adherence to strategic tools
* Challenge requests for software to ensure appropriate use of resources
* Carry out software reconciliation as appropriate to ensure compliance is upheld.
* Manage mobile phones, ensuring financial mobile contract information is maintained.
* Ensure Hardware purchasing templates are completed to required level and associated CMDB updates are completed to a high standard.


* Track and record standard stock levels and identify as and when purchase is required
* Confirm financial availability with Senior manager to ensure forecasts are fit for purpose.
* Review quotes, to ensure value for Money purchases are made.
* Record all purchases (including receipting) to ensure audit requirements are met.
* Track assets throughout its lifecycle from purchase to disposal/retired state.

* Operate within a cross site multi-functional team
* Active participation in wider communities of practice, identifying good practices we can adopt and sharing our experiences
* Sharing knowledge of tools and techniques, and collaborating to improve the capability of the team
* Challenge existing processes to build agile and flexible platforms, services and products
* Excellent customer service skills
* Good interpersonal skills
* Tolerance of stressful situations, and can work under pressure
