Permanent position: Exciting new opportunity for a Sr. Configuration Engineer or Configuration Engineer at a global technology leader in the Austin, TX area! The CE will design new or develop enhancements to existing build and configuration procedures by collaborating within the multi-disciplinary teams & have a good understanding of end to end projects from prototype to production. Ideal candidate will have experience in the telecommunications industry, proficient in the use of AutoCAD, intermediate Excel skills, and Visio. Must have BSEE or comparable degree and desirable for CCNA. Strongly preferred to have two years experience with IP networks, knowledge of subnetting, routing protocols, VLAN configuration or QoS. Local candidates strongly preferred, or basic relocation assistance. No sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities for the Configuration Engineer

  • Collaborate with sales teams during entire sales cycle (pre-during-post) & multi-disciplinary teams for effective after-the-sale execution support
  • Create block diagrams describing proposed system, & final form sales order documents according to quotations/ proposal documents
  • Maintain system configuration info in documentation database
  • Generate/ maintain standards & application guides for documenting Microwave & IP Communication Networks/ Product Configurations

Requirements for the Configuration Engineer

  • BSEE, BSCS, or comparable degree
  • Must be proficient in AutoCAD, intermediate Excel skills
  • Preferred to have Visio experience
  • Strongly preferred to have two years experience with IP networks, knowledge of subnetting, routing protocols, VLAN configuration or QoS
  • Desirable but not required to have Cisco CCNA/ higher certification
