job summary:

Under the administrative direction of the Chief Credit Officer, this position is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Core Bank Credit Department. Responsible for the training and coaching of Credit Analysts to ensure quality loan underwriting and risk analysis. This position is also responsible for providing support to the Chief Credit Officer. Additionally, assists in the detection of deterioration in loan quality and recommends appropriate Risk Grades.

responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Underwriting Analysis:

  • Participates in Deal Vetting with Relationship Managers, suggesting underwriting guidelines
  • Assigns credit requests to Credit Analysts and manages work flow.
  • Reviews financial spreads with Credit Analysts with an emphasis on identifying potential risks

Communication:

  • Provides guidance to Credit Analyst in establishing daily/weekly goals, set long term goals for the Credit team members, as appropriate.
  • Communicates with Loan Officers to provide results of underwriting
  • Disseminates credit related docs to loan officers, other bank personnel, and third parties

Reporting:

  • Assist the Chief Credit Officer with the quarterly analysis of the adequacy of the allowance for loan losses
  • Assist with the preparation of periodic studies of the various portions of the loan portfolio including past due reports, concentration of credit, etc. for the benefit of supervisory and executive officers
  • Participate in quarterly Watch meetings of the Core Bank
 
qualifications:

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • BS or BA degree in Finance or Accounting
  • 7+ years credit / commercial lending / management experience to include syndication and leverage lending underwriting.
  • Extensive knowledge of credit administration, policy, and procedures
  • Extensive knowledge of risk analysis and mitigation, with an emphasis on loan structuring
  • Strong communication, reasoning and decision-making skills
  • Experience in regulatory compliance, including CRA compliance.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Team building and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong independent thinking.
  • Demonstrated board reporting and presentation experience.
