job summary:

Randstad Technologies, one of the nation's leading IT Staffing and Services firms, has an immediate need for a Data Architect to sit on-site in Baltimore, Maryland! This will be a direct hire position.

The Data Architect will be responsible for looking at the bigger picture, analyzing data in the aggregate, and figuring out where is should be placed and why.

This individual will monitor usage of enterprise data to identify potential capacity overloads, conduct user interviews, facilitate modeling sessions, write business and technical requirements, create standards and best practices, design solutions, and advise/contribute to development projects. The Data Architect will participate in project planning to ensure effective use of technology and/or business process to meet customers' needs. They will request resources to accomplish goals and objectives through the project manager. They establish and monitor project and task schedules and ensure adherence to work deadlines. Finally, the Data Architect provides leadership, motivation, and direction to staff, builds teamwork, fosters staff cohesion, and contributes to staff evaluations.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Familiarity writing and documenting technical designs and system documentation (e.g., context diagrams, UML, data flow and network diagrams)
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Technologies
  • Utilizes a variety of mediums to keep current on advances and industry standards in new and existing technologies (e.g. ITIL, PMP etc.)
  • Guides technical discussions across project teams to resolve design conflicts
  • Prepares and maintains project documents that include architecture diagrams and models
  • Integrates multiple cross functional processes and disciplines to meet business and technical requirements by bringing perspective from all architecture domains (process, system, application information, data, and security)
  • Responsible for IT vision, strategy, technology innovations, and architecture services of enterprise infrastructure and applications; design, document and implement a strategic roadmap for assigned technologies.
  • Address highly complex problems by meeting with clients to observe and understand current processes and the issues related to those processes. Provide written documentation of findings to share with the client and other IT colleagues.

Education:

Bachelor's degree required, with Master's degree highly preferred

Knowledge:

  • Requires a thorough knowledge of data modeling, process modeling, data warehouse, and data management principles and processes
  • Solid understanding of Master Data Management principles and the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • Strong technical knowledge of data integration tools, data modeling tools, metadata tools, and database design. ETL processes, BI analytics and development strategies
  • SQL programming, relational databases and ER/dimensional modeling techniques

Skills:

  • Good interpersonal skills and teamwork
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to translate business needs into solution designs using visualization is required
  • Knowledge of Object Oriented Languages & Concepts (C#, .net, Java, REST, Spring, Hibernate, Design Patterns)
  • Knowledge of Database technology (SQL Server, Oracle, Mongo DB)
  • Knowledge of Systems Security technology
  • Awareness of technology trends and a passion to stay abreast of emerging technologies

Preferred Skills:

Knowledge of medical coding systems, i.e. ICD9, CPT, HCPCS, ACGs is desirable

Work Experience:

Requires a minimum of 5-7 years of experience across multiple IT environments with hands-on experience in multiple phases of the system development life cycle (SDLC), domain architecture experience and hands on development or leading development efforts
