The supervisor is responsible for implementing system security, managing user access, and maintaining network operations. This includes setting up spam filters for email accounts, initializing virus protection software on the network, and helping employees or clients troubleshoot any issues they are having with the hardware, software or the Internet. The IT Supervisor acts as an expert in the department assisting with any escalated concerns and will train staff to ensure that they are performing effectively.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure proper functioning of the organization's IT systems and upgrade as necessary
  • Develop & maintain Business Continuity Plan (BCP)
  • Help departments utilize IT systems to improve their efficiency
  • Provide IT support for regulatory and compliance activities
  • Ensure the design of multiple application software's work collectively together
  • Keep computer equipment, hardware, and software efficient to meet organizational needs
  • Identify, communicate, and manage risks associated with IT projects
  • Lead, coordinate, and collaborate with the IT team to identify, design, develop, and execute comprehensive software test plans
  • Review backlogged work orders to ensure that assignments are completed; responds to the problems in a tactful and expedient manner
  • Assists with coordination of work assignments amongst vendors and contractors
  • Evaluate new products on the market for applicability to possible future installations
